Acoustic Tests for Luxury Parquet

Impact Insulation Class (IIC) evaluates the transmission of impact sound through a floor, such as footsteps. To conduct this test, the ASTM E492, a standard tapping machine consisting of five hammers strikes the floor at a total rate of ten times each second. While the IIC rating of the luxury parquet is important, the Delta IIC is really the more telling number because it shows by how many decibels the luxury parquet reduces sound transmission.
